TUSCANY AT INNISBROOK NEWSLETTER
SEPTEMBER, 2008
ANNUAL MEETING: Our Annual Meeting
will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. We hope you will make an effort to be there
as it is important to establish a quorum to conduct business. We have the Budget to approve, and also the
Election of Directors. If you cannot be
there in person, be sure to mail in your Proxy and Ballot to cast your
vote. This is a very important election,
as it is every year, to get the right people on the Board to make the right decisions for you, the
homeowners. You should be getting your
packet in the mail soon. We hope to see
you there. Mark your Calendar!
SAVINGS: We have saved money on our Flood Insurance
this year, and are always looking for other ways to save with the ongoing
increases that we all have to deal with.
Another very large savings we can make is to cancel the monitored alarm
service that we have with Wainwright Alarm Service. Your alarm can still be set by you for
security purposes, and it will go off if there is an intrusion, it just wouldn't
be monitored by Wainwright. We pay a
monthly fee to Wainwright of $2574.00 for 396 systems, which amounts to
$30,888.00 per year. Scott just verified
who is actually hooked up with Wainwright, and it is a total of 50
households. That is a lot of money per
month and per year. If you figure that
out, it is over $50.00 per month that we are paying for those who actually use
it. If a homeowner still wanted to be
hooked up with Wainwright at their own cost, it would be $25.00 per month. Or you could shop around and perhaps get a
better price with another alarm company. Cuts have to be made in certain areas
to keep our maintenance fees from going up.
This is one of those areas where we can have a considerable savings.
PAINTING: The painters are now on the North side and
moving right along. Paint has been
distributed on the South side for the patios and the doors. If you can drop off some more small bottles
or jars to Scott, it would be appreciated.
I guess he is out of them. Keep
in mind, that we are doing this painting with no special assessment.
MULCHING: We have been spreading mulch around the
property and it looks great. Eric has
been doing this by himself and is doing a terrific job. We all know that it is a back-breaking
job. He is also putting some flowers and
greenery in some areas. Next year we are
budgeting for mulch and plants, so we will be able to do the whole property,
and perhaps do it twice a year. We are
able to mulch now, because of the savings in the Insurance Premiums.
We
are not in the clear yet, but are lucky so far that these Hurricanes have
avoided our coastline. Lets keep our fingers crossed to make it thru the
next couple of months with no hits.
Don't let your guard down, and stay prepared just in case!
